A glucometer strip is a small strip that is used to monitor your blood sugar level by transferring your blood sample to your blood glucose meter. From the comfort of your own home you can monitor your blood sugar levels and maintain your diabetic treatment. Monitoring and controlling your diabetes requires the small disposable strips. Your blood is delivered to the glucose meter by the glucometer strips. There is a standard test strip used by most meters. However, there are some blood glucose meters that can also test for ketone levels using blood ketone strips.
Accu-Check also has connect meters and lancets available.
Accu Chek Aviva test strips deliver your blood sample to your Accu-Chek Aviva Blood Glucose Meter for an accurate reading of your blood sugar levels.
First, you take your blood strips out of the container, making sure to check the expiration date (only use if the expiration date has not passed yet) and insert the glucometer strip into your meter gold end first. The meter is ready when a small blood drop symbol appears on the screen. After lancing, your fingertip put the end of the test strip against the drop of blood and let it fill the test strip. When enough blood has filled the test strip, a small hourglass symbol will flash on the screen to show you that your meter is working. Your reading will be ready in five seconds and then dispose of your used test strip safely.
