Tresiba FlexTouch Pens (200 Units) is a long-acting human insulin analog that improves glycemic control in patients one year of age and older with diabetes mellitus through pen form.
Tresiba (insulin degludec) is long-acting basal insulin administered once daily to control blood glucose levels. Other long-acting insulins include Lantus and Levemir.
It is used to treat type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, adolescents, and children (over 1).
Tresiba can be combined with rapid-acting insulin, oral medications for diabetes, and antidiabetic medications other than insulin.
Tresiba FlexTouch Pens disposable prefilled pens should never be shared between patients, even if the needle is changed. Patients using Tresiba vials should never share needles or syringes with another person. Sharing poses a risk for the transmission of blood-borne pathogens.
The FlexTouch Pen is also available in 100 Units/mL.
